On the morning of September 16, the press conference of Yizhang County celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC was held in the Press Release Hall of the Municipal Government. 

Zhang Runhai, County Head of Yizhang County People's Government, released the great achievements and historic changes of Yizhang County since the founding of New China.

It was understood that Yizhang County's GDP in 1952 was 23 million yuan, reaching 23.123 billion yuan in 2018, with an average annual growth of 10.7 percent and an increase of 23.1 billion yuan. The total economic output reached 5 billion yuan in 2009, 10 billion yuan in 2012 and 20 billion yuan in 2016, achieving three major leaps. The total industrial output value, fixed assets investment, total retail sales of consumer goods, and general public budget income developed from 2 million yuan, 74 million yuan, 1 million yuan, 1.76 million yuan in 1952 to 17 billion yuan, 15.385 billion yuan, 9.603 billion yuan, and 1.273 billion yuan in 2018. The county's economic strength ranked first in the city and ranked among the top ten counties in the county economy of the province.

Since the founding of New China 70 years ago, Yizhang's industry has been transformed and upgraded to realize the transformation from "black industry" to "green economy" and "quality-benefit type", formed five leading industries of navel orange, tea, tea oil, flue-cured tobacco and pigs, becoming a key county in the construction of navel orange dominant zone in China, a demonstration county of national agricultural standardization (navel orange), a major grain-producing county in China, a major county in the transfer of live pigs and a top 100 tea counties in China, and formed five new industries of new materials, new energy, equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, electronic information and so on.

With the rapid development of tourism in Yizhang, tourism in Damangshan ushered in a new round of golden development period. 3 billion yuan has been invested to build a new scenic spot of Wuzhi Peak Mountain in Mangshan Mountain. Mangshan Reservoir Project was awarded as one of the top 10 influential water conservancy projects and the national PPP demonstration project. It was successfully sluiced and impounded in March this year. Xiamen-Rongshan Expressway Chishi Bridge is the second world-class super bridge in the province, which has created seven world championships. Yizhang County has successfully established the "Hot Spring Town of China", a strong tourism county in the province, and a key county of cultural tourism industry in the province.

In Yizhang County, a total of 71,457 poor people from 18,484 households were lifted out of poverty from 2014 to 2018, and 80 poor villages were out of the list. The incidence of poverty in the whole county was 0.87 percent. It was awarded the National Innovation Award for Poverty Alleviation and Strong Poverty Alleviation Organizations in 2019. In 2018, the overall well-off level ranked second among the provincial three types of counties, and was evaluated as the provincial excellent county in promoting the overall well-off level.
