On the morning of September 17, the press conference of Yongxing County celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC was held in the Press Release Hall of the Municipal Government. Zhao Yu, Secretary of the Yongxing County Party Committee, published on the spot the great achievements and historic changes of Yongxing County since the founding of New China 70 years ago. 

In the past 70 years, Yongxing County has been upgraded from a large traditional agricultural county to a strong economic county with vigorous development of agriculture, industry and service industry. The total GDP jumped from 17.85 million yuan in 1952 to 34.05 billion yuan in 2018; the per capita GDP increased from 60 yuan in 1952 to 62,646 yuan in 2018; the investment in fixed assets increased from 30,000 yuan in 1952 to 23.7 billion yuan in 2018; and the general public budget income increased from 900,000 yuan in 1949 to 2.06 billion yuan in 2018.

In recent years, Yongxing County has made great efforts to solve the prominent problems of "two without worries and three guarantees", focusing on promoting poverty alleviation in poor villages in provinces and cities and non-poor villages with more than 100 poor people. In the past six years, 25282 people have been lifted out of poverty, all the poor villages in 33 provinces and municipalities have been out of the list, and the incidence of poverty has dropped to 1.24 percent. At the same time, Yongxing County has also focused on the most prominent issues and made overall efforts to solve the problems of education, literary style, medical treatment and employment, which are closely related to the lives of the common people. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the county has invested a total of 880 million yuan in educational projects, adding 15,000 new urban standard spaces, and has been listed as a pilot county for the construction of standardization schools in Hunan Province.
 

In Yongxing County, the cultural and sports undertakings are flourishing in an all-round way, and the "one center, eight platforms" media matrix has been built first in the whole province. 600 free leisure Book bars have covered urban and rural areas, and Huang Kecheng's former residence has been listed as the key cultural relics protection units in the province. Yongxing Huagu Opera and Dabujiang Patchwork Embroidery have been listed as provincial intangible cultural heritage. Nationalwide reading, sports and Wushu have won national gold-lettered signboards and tje rural movies have won provincial gold-lettered signboards.

The employment situation in Yongxing County is basically stable. Since 1990, the registered unemployment rate in Yongxing County has been below 4.5 percent. In 2018, people's livelihood expenditure accounted for 72 percent of the general public budget expenditure; the situation of safety production was stable and good; government debt was generally controllable; pollution prevention and control was vigorous; 100 percent of urban centralized drinking water sources met the standard; the air quality of county and urban areas reached 93.2 percent, and the people's happiness index continued to improve.

On the scene of the conference, Zhao Yu, the Secretary of Yongxing County Party Committee, Liu Chaohui, the Vice Secretary of Yongxing County Party Committee, and Chen Zhanhua, Vice Secretary of Yongxing County Party Committee, also answered the reporters' questions on Party building, economic development and poverty alleviation.
