On September 20, the press conference of Rucheng County celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC was held in the Press Release Hall of the Municipal Government.

Over the past 70 years, Rucheng County has persisted in open development, stepped forward in a solid pace of high-quality development, handed over a high-score answer sheet for overcoming poverty and tackling difficulties, grasped the relationship between cadres and masses as life, won the genuine recognition of the masses, adhered to the combination of strict management and love, and created a clean and honest political ecology.

The county's GDP and per capita GDP jumped from 28.13 million yuan and 146 yuan in 1952 to 6.528 billion yuan and 18,585 yuan in 2018, increasing 42 times and 33.9 times respectively (at comparable prices); the local fiscal revenue increased from 3.73 million yuan to 429 million yuan, an increase of 114 times. Linwu County's economic strength is rising steadily, social undertakings are flourishing and people's lives are booming.

In recent years, Rucheng County has earnestly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on targeted poverty alleviation, adhered to the overall situation of economic and social development through poverty alleviation and hard work. At present, 80 poverty-stricken villages in the county are out of the list, with a total of 18,260 households and 60,419 people. The incidence of poverty has dropped from 19.81 percent to 0.91 percent. Linwu County succeeded in getting rid of poverty in 2018.

In recent years, the county has carried out in-depth practice on the theme of "Promoting the spirit of half of quilt, closing the relationship between the Party and the masses" with the people-centered development idea, vigorously implemented the "Eight Major Actions" of listening to the public to solve the difficulties of the people, helping the people in difficulty, resolving contradictions and disputes, cultivating characteristic industries, renovating rural environment, building rural culture, clearing up and opening village affairs, and eliminating "black evil force", and promoted the recognition of the masses with actions.

Rucheng County has also made great efforts to build the first destination of tourism leisure and vacation in Hunan, Guangdong and Jiangxi, and to promote the development of cultural tourism industry by taking the opportunity of the establishment of the "Global Tourism Demonstration Zone"; seized the opportunity, led by red tourism, and actively integrated into the whole province's "beautiful Xiaoxiang" tourism development pattern, focusing on creating four-color tourism brands of "red, blue, green, ancient".

Rucheng County will unswervingly listen to the Party's words, follow the Party, deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era, remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, and work hard to speed up the construction of "Beautiful ecology, flourishing industry and prosperous people" in Rucheng County.
