It was learned from Chenzhou highways working conference that Chenzhou city’s highways condition was fully improved in 2013. The excellent rate for original highways was about 95.8% and sub-lines was about 78.5%, which contributed to the comprehensive excellent rate as 87.3%.

In 2013, 26 main highways projects with 399kms were under construction schedule. Chenyong Avenue and other 10 projects were finished and opened to public. Thanks to this kind of sound development, a “one-hour drive”and a“half-an-hour drive” traffic circles were formed in Chenzhou city, which helped to promote Chenzhou city to be a transportation hub city. Furthermore, rural highways construction was promoted greatly as well, 97% administrative villages were facilitated with concrete (pitch) roads.

In order to guarantee the safe condition of the highways, some activities as “year of highway maintenance and management”, upgrading of rural roads maintenance, competition for highway maintenance, greening and decorating projects, demonstration roads construction, and etc. were held in Chenzhou city. G107, S322, and S215 have been past the inspection successfully. 3600kms greening work with 400 million yuan investments, 1600kms lighting-up project and some establishment work have been fulfilled as well, which enabled Chenzhou city to be with greening road gallery. At the meantime, some strong overloading control work was promoted by Chenzhou city to keep the overloading rate under 0.05%.

It was learned that Chenzhou city would continue to optimize its road network in 2014 and try best to finish 14 continued construction projects to further improve Chenzhou city’s highways condition.
