Qualitative Change- Chenzhou City’s Development Pattern Changes Rapidly
The development trend becomes better
It was learned from the economic operation report issued by Chenzhou commercial departments that the total volume of foreign trade hit $530 million with an increase of 4.49% in first quarter, ranking second place of Hunan province (first was Changsha city). The increase rate was 5.49% higher than the national average level.
In first two months of 2014, due to the influence of Spring Festival and production cycle adjustment for some key foreign trade companies, the total foreign trade volume was just $260 million, which was not operated well. But in March, most of the key foreign trade companies gradually recovered to ordinary production, which helped to fulfill the total volume of foreign trade to $270 million in just one month, up 101.84% compared with last year and up 140.57% compared with this February.
According to the data, some private companies played very good role on the foreign trade businesses with a total volume of $409 million, covering 77.3% of total. Sino-foreign joint ventures hit $49 million, exclusive foreign-owned enterprises hit $41 million, other types of foreign trade companies hit $31 million and state-owned companied hit $37.61 million, covering 9.2%, 7.6%, 4.7% and 1.25 respectively.
The key import products for Chenzhou city in the first quarter were lead concentrate and platinum, while the export commodities were silver, television, bismuth, graphite and so on.
As shown from the data, precious metal processing trade was the key business for Chenzhou city’s foreign trade in the first quarter. The total volume of precious metal processing trade hit $236 million, covering 44.53% of the total amount. Rhodium oxide and Palladium oxide (Ⅱ) were the key items which accounted for $100 million on the first quarter’s business.
It was analyzed by some commercial departments that the foreign trade of Chenzhou city was affected greatly by the macroeconomic condition. Generally speaking, world economy became better currently and some wrinkles as deepening reform handled in China benefited foreign trade businesses well.
It was noteworthy that the businesses with South Africa, EU, Australia and some other emerging markets were more than earlier stage with increase rate of 608.3%, 93.7% and 441 % separately, amounting for $90 million, $36million and $33million respectively. This data indicated that Chenzhou city’s foreign trade reached further achievements on the expansion and exploration of new foreign trade markets.
