Recently, working together with the construction technical force, the tobacco department of Guiyang County started the consolidation of tobacco land of 20 projects areas in Haotang town to ensure the good achievements next year.

What is the basic tobacco land consolidation? It is the improvement of land condition like making land to be bigger and straight and affiliated with tractor roads and irrigation channels, etc. to popularize the tractor plough of tobacco production with higher efficiency. Last July, a modern tobacco agriculture on-spot meeting of China was held in Guiyang County. Guiyang County seized the chance that State Tobacco Bureau enhanced the investment on infrastructure construction of modern tobacco agriculture to improve its tobacco industry. Besides successfully getting approval from upper level government to perfect the tobacco industry facilities, Guiyang County tried its best to obtain 370 million yuan special funds of basic tobacco land consolidation from State Tobacco Bureau in 2012. This fund was allocated to 11720mu basic land consolidation in 12 villages of Haotang town, Guiyang County. According to the plan, all the 20 bidding projects should be finished before 2013 Chinese Spring Festival in order to meet the time limit of 90 days.

The projects were started from November. In order to follow the progress of projects and ensure their quality, the tobacco department of Guiyang County allocated staffs to check all the details every day.

According to the plan, the basic land of Haotang town would be consolidated to 808 pieces, 3.8mu/piece with better channel, road and irrigation condition. Once all tasks are finished, Haotang town tobacco industry will be named on the list of key demonstration area of 2013 Hunan mechanization production, and be donated with over 300 million yuan agricultural machineries by the state. By then, the modern tobacco agriculture production mechanical rate of the entire Haotang tobacco project area can reach over 90%.
