It was reported that 2015 China Hunan International Tourism Festival was opened in the evening of September 12, 2015. Wang Xiaofeng- Deputy Director of the State Tourism Bureau attended the opening ceremony and awarded the national 5A landscape plaque to Dongjiang Lake. Chen Rongwei- Secretary of Zixing Municipal Party Committee received the plaque.
In this July, a new batch of national 5A landscapes was released on the official web of the State Tourism Bureau. Chenzhou Dongjiang Lake landscape was enrolled into the list and became the 8th national 5A landscape of Hunan province. The other 7 ones are Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan landscape, Hengyang Mount Hengshan landscape, Xiangtan Shaoshan landscape, Yueyang Yueyang Tower-Junshan Island landscape, Changsha Yuelu Mountain-Juzizhou landscape, Zhangjiajie Tianmenshan landscape, and Ningxiang Huaminglou Liushaoqi’s hometown.

Dongjiang Lake landscape was famous as “panoramic view in a lake”. Foggy small Dongjiang, Dongjiang Dam, Longjing Canyon, and some other scenic spots are available there. It is with 160 square meters lake surface and its water quality meets the standards of national 1st grade drinking water. Currently, Dongjiang Lake landscape is the exclusive one of Hunan province with 6 national level plagues as national ecological tourism demonstration area, national 5A landscape, national scenic spot, national forest park, national wetland park, and national water conservancy landscape.

According to the record, thanks to the construction of Dongjiang Lake landscape, both the ticket income and comprehensive tourism revenue of it are two times more than earlier days. 712,100 visitors, 768,800 visitors and 783,000 visitors traveled to Dongjiang Lake in 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively. In the first half year of 2015, 466,800 visitors were received by Dongjiang Lake, contributing to 23.7717million yuan tourism revenue. Besides domestic visitors, some foreign visitors from Europe, the USA, and other East Asia travelled there as well.
