It was the first successful case of Chenzhou city’s “three establishments” project

It was learned from Chenzhou city’s Establishment Office that “a notice about the naming of 2013 national garden city, county and town handled by Ministry of Housing and Urban-rural Development”was issued by the ministry on January 14,2014 and was released on its official website on January 16, 2014. Chenzhou city was enrolled in the list, which was the exclusive one from Hunan province.

Chenzhou city launched the establishment work of national garden city from 2003 and was awarded as “national advance garden and greening city”, “national advanced unit of garden and greening”, etc. Though suffered from the severe ice disaster in 2008 that Chenzhou city’s ecological condition was destroyed greatly, Chenzhou city kept great efforts to fight for the establishment of national garden city. Over 17 billion yuan was placed on a large number of ecological projects, which greatly helped to upgrade Chenzhou city’s greening level.

Till now, green coverage ratio and greening rate of Chenzhou urban area are 39.12% and 37.1% separately and per capita public greening land is 10.24 square meters. All the three indexes exceeded the standards of national garden city. Chenzhou city is greeting travelers worldwide with a new green image.
