On June 14, the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee organized the deputies of National and Provincial People's Congress to hold the special research forum on supporting the development of agricultural products processing industry and promoting the agricultural supply-side structural reform. Party secretary and Deputy Director of Municipal People's Congress Zhang Aiguo attended the forum and made a speech.

The participants carried out the thorough discussion on how to support the development of agricultural products processing industry. They suggested that we should further increase the policy support for agricultural products processing industry, promote the deep processing of agricultural products and improve the processing capacity of agricultural products; should vigorously support the rural electric business, accelerate the development of rural logistics services; should encourage the development of rural tourism and optimize the agricultural industry structure.

Zhang Aiguo pointed out that the agricultural supply-side structural reform is a systematic issue and we should focus on strengthening the reform and innovation in the production, sales, brand development, sustainable development and other aspects. He stressed that we should adjust the structure and pattern of agricultural industry, increase the implementation efforts, refine the ways of quality adjustment and effective improvement to the county, town, village, specifically to the industry and enterprises; should change the extensive mode of agricultural production, reduce management costs through large-scale production and operation, reduce labor costs relying on mechanization and reduce material costs through promoting the standardization and fine production; should make up the shortcomings of agricultural human resources development, strengthen the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements, give full play to the Internet, networking， intelligentized network and other emerging tools, strengthen the cultivation of new type of professional farmers and strengthen the land circulation; should protect the agricultural resources and environment, closely combine the basic farmland protection, Xiangjiang River Basin protection and governance to identify the problems, put forward countermeasures and implement the responsibility.
