The beautiful and charming Dongjiang Lake attracts tourists from all over the country. 2012 Hunan international tourism festival will be opened on September 12 in Zixing city. Dongjiang Lake is the biggest artificial lake in the central China as well as one of the training bases for national aqua sports. It covers 160 square meters with 8.1 billion water reservation capacity and is as big as half of Dongting Lake. It is surrounded with green forests and mist-covered water, making the lake look like a fairy land. There are one central island and 13 peninsulas with amazing views in Dongjiang Lake. When travelling in Dongjiang Lake, You can enjoy the fogging in Dongjiang river, monkey ancient mountain fall, and Dongjiang dam- the first hyperbolic shell arch dam designed and constructed by China and ranking second in the world and first in Asia.
