Recently, according to “notice for the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection sites” issued by the State Council, 7 sites in Chenzhou city were qualified on the list. The seven sites were Emperor Yi’s tomb, Xiangnan uprising former sites, Suxianling carved cliffs, Shilangta carved cliffs, Rucheng ancient ancestral halls, embroidery workshop and former residence of Deng Zhongxia. Plus Yizhang Xiangnan uprising headquarter former site, now there are 8 national level relics protection sites available in Chenzhou city.

As a key connection point between central and south China since ancient times, abundant cultures from different areas of China left their traces in Chenzhou city. The newly approved national level protection sites were with different characteristics as ancient tomb, historic building, carves, historic sites and buildings in modern time, etc..

The 7 newly qualified national protection sites would play important role on Chenzhou city’s construction of “three national level cities” and submission of national historic cultural city. Besides the 8 national level sites, there were 85 provincial level, 125 municipal level, and 110 county level cultural relics protection sites available in Chenzhou city.

It was learned that further propaganda work would be handled by Chenzhou government to upgrade the cultural relics protection awareness of all citizens. Meanwhile, high standard protection planning would be figured out to carry out the balanced efficient protection and rational utilization. All those would greatly improve Chenzhou city’s construction of cultural tourism brand and strong cultural city.
