The media group of trans-century cross-Hunan environmental protection led by Hunan Provincial Party Committee member and Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial CPC Environment and Resource Committee- Li Yiyun visited Chenzhou.

The theme for 2012 trans-century cross-Hunan environmental protection is “protecting the mother river, drinking clean water”. The media group was constituted by Hunan branch of Xinhua news agency, China Environmental News, Jurisprudence Daily, China Industry News, Hunan Daily, Xiaoxiang Morning News, Hunan Public Channel etc.. The media group are focusing more on Chenzhou environment pollution treatment, ecological environment protection and Xiangjiang River integrated treatment work by visiting Chenjiang river, Xihe river, Bianjiang river, Ganxihe river, Guanshandong mining area heavy metal pollution treatment project in the upstream of Xihe river, and other projects.

Chenzhou government has kept on carrying out the environment comprehensive improvement with 39 projects fully covered in 2012, for instance, the mining area environment treatment was forcefully propelled so that no rebound illegal mining situation happening in the key mines; 14 monitoring stations were established in Dongjiang Lake for tracking supervision and more than 200 construction projects which may influence the drinking water have been vetoed.

Chenzhou Municipal CPC Standing Committee Director and Deputy Director- Zhong Benqiang and Xie Yuanan, Chenzhou Deputy Mayor- Shou Jianzhong, Chenzhou Municipal CPC Standing Committee Party Group Member and Former Deputy Director- Yuan Jiayou and Secretary-general- Xu Benhua participated in the report conference.
