Every March is the blossom season for peach flowers. Thousands of travelers gathered in Bailang county, Chenzhou city to attend the opening ceremony of 2013 China Dongjiang Lake (Bailang) Peach Flower Festival on March 17, 2013. Visitors enjoyed the hundred peach flower beauties show and wedding dress show in the opening ceremony.

In order to greet the visitors, peach flowers in Bailang county bloomed better than earlier years. Different kinds of peach flowers presented their best images to visitors.

This festival was sponsored by Zixing County Party Committee and Zixing Government and was undertaken by Bailang Township Party Committee, Bailang Town Government, Zixing Travel Bureau, Zixing New Media Group, Youth League Committee of Zixing County Party Committee and Zixing Travel Group Company. Opening ceremony, blind date party, mountain climbing and other activities were held in the festival. 20 peach flower princesses and 2 peach flower island owners were selected via internet, phone and site voting.

Followed with the target to be the top hundred counties, Zixing city vigorously implemented the tourism development strategy. The city is now working on establishing Dongjiang lake to be national 5A scenic spot in 2013, establishing Zixing city to be national sanitary city in 2014, and establishing Zixing city to be national tourist resort in 2015, especially working on the improving Dongjiang lake to be worldwide level tourist resort and the most beautiful water city in China. In order to fulfill those targets, many top level experts were invited by the city government to assist the improvement of Dongjiang lake’s construction.

Thanks to the 2012 China Hunan International Tourism Festival & the 2nd Chenzhou Ecological and Leisure Tourism Festival held in Zixing city, Dongjiang lake landscape was improved well on infrastructure construction and was gained much more fame national wide even worldwide. Zixing city was ranked the top 20 of Hunan province in social management polls and first place of Chenzhou city.

Bailing town is located in the core area of Dongjiang lake landscape with very beautiful scenery and long history. Now it is working hard to fulfill the target to improve it to be worldwide“featured tourism county”. There are 2000mu peach forests available in the town. Every blossom season, the splendid bloom scenery attracts thousands of tourists from Southeast Asian areas and other provinces of China. Along with the improvement of the festival, villagers living condition were upgraded as well.
