2013 Dongjiang river drifting opening ceremony was held on April 16, 2013 in Huangcao town, Chenzhou city. The peach beauties selected from 2013 China Dongjiang Lake (Bailang) Peach Flower Festival, hundreds of visitors, travelers, reporters, participated the first drifting activity.

Dongjiang drifting was famous as “the first drifting of China”. It is 28kms long with 75 meters drop and 108 acute rapids. Especially the 336 meters long artificial drift chute with an average slope of 5 degrees enables people to enjoy the most excited drifting feeling. In order to improve Dongjiang river’s drifting condition, more than 200 million yuan was invested on the project by Zixing government with the national 5A standard to upgrade its construction level. Besides the excited feeling of drifting, visitors can stay for enjoying the peaceful and beautiful ecological sceneries there.

Some local traditional activities as worship for Dragon King and River-God were held in the opening ceremony to express people’s esteem to the river and good willing to safety.
