Tourism industry development conference was held in Chenzhou City

It was reported that a tourism industry development conference was held in Chenzhou city recently. Xiang Lili- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee stated on the conference that relative departments should keep focusing on improving leisure city brand of Chenzhou city with freer mind and innovative reform spirit and try to upgrade Chenzhou city as a strong tourism city of “city in the forest, leisure city”. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City hosted the conference.

According to the data, Chenzhou city’s tourism industry kept a rapid development in recent years that its annual increase rate was higher than the increase of Chenzhou city’s GDP and other industries. In recent 3 years, 72 million tourists were received by Chenzhou city with an annual increase of 17%. Comprehensive tourism revenue hit 49 billion yuan with an annual increase of 20%, covering 11% of Chenzhou city’s GDP. 28.196 million tourists were received in 2013 by Chenzhou city, amounting to 19.409 billion yuan tourism revenue.

Xiang stated that Chenzhou tourism industry should be greatly improved from a new starting point. Compared with traditional sightseeing tourism model, Chenzhou city’s tourism industry was improved to be comprehensive tourism with more famous tourism brands and its tourism scale and strength were upgraded gradually with more mature tourism development mechanism and model . On this new starting point, Chenzhou city’s tourism industry should be kept to create more features and brands and help Chenzhou city to be upgraded as a strong tourism city.

Xiang said in order to improve the brand of “leisure city”, more attention should be placed on some key points as leisure environment, leisure industry, leisure service, leisure culture and leisure brand to grant Chenzhou city with high quality leisure products, chain type leisure industries, comfortable leisure conditions, high level leisure service and favorable leisure culture. It was purposely to upgrade Chenzhou city to be a first-class leisure city.

Xiang pointed out in order to improve the tourism industry, more efforts should be tried on five key areas as central urban area, great Dongjiang river landscape belt, Mount Mangshan, Rucheng hot spring, and western cultural tourism area and on four tourism patterns as hot spring tourism, manor tourism, leisure and health tourism, and cultural tourism. On the process of improvement, more features should be created to upgrade the development of tourism.

Xiang stated that a new tourism development pattern should be formed in Chenzhou city with the driving force of reform, improvement of infrastructure and regional tourism cooperation. It was purposely to establish Chenzhou city to be a high level, international, competitive and attractive open and leisure city.

Qu Hai required that further reform and innovation should be promoted in Chenzhou city’s tourism industry to upgrade its transformation and upgrading, especially on the construction of tourism comprehensive coordination mechanism. More attention should be placed to the integration of resources and promotion of deepening development, especially on the implementation of the general plan for Chenzhou city’s tourism development to form a great tourism pattern with integrated tourism resources, unified packing and comprehensive promotion. More efforts should be placed on projects construction to grant the tourism industry with strong support, especially on some activities as establishment of“hot spring city of China”, demonstration city of national leisure area, and demonstration city of self-driving city of China. More attention should be placed to the marketing to popularize Chenzhou city’s tourism brand. At the meantime, more efforts should be placed on the market supervision to upgrade service quality and maintain the sound order of Chenzhou city’s tourism industry.

Zhang Xihui- Deputy Mayor of Chenzhou city addressed a working report on the conference. Some municipal leaders of Chenzhou city were present at the conference. Counties and districts of Chenzhou city submitted their 2014 objectives liability statement for development of tourism industry.
