Qualitative Change- Chenzhou City’s Development Pattern Changes Rapidly
It was learned from Changsha Customs Chenzhou office that the total volume of foreign trade hit 9.51billion yuan in the first half year in Chenzhou city, up 34.7%. The amounts of export and import were 4.72billion yuan and 4.79billion yuan with the increases of 14.6% and 62.8% respectively. Both export and import were with rapid increase.
In the first half year, the outstanding feature of Chenzhou city’s foreign trade was its rapid increase of processing trade and decrease of general trade. According to the data shown by the customs, the total volume of processing trade was amounted to 6.85billion yuan, up 57.6%, covering 72% of the total foreign trade amount of Chenzhou city, which was much higher Hunan provincial rate of 25.4%. On the other hand, the general trade was 30% lower than last year. The main products for Chenzhou city’s general trade were silver, graphite, and etc. which were kept with low price from the beginning of 2014. The average exporting price of silver was 5.2yuan/g, 16.5% lower and graphite was 2600yuan/ton, 19.1% lower. Due to this decreasing price, the total amount of export of silver was just 115.5tons, 32.8% lower.
80% of the export products were shipped to Hong Kong. The key export markets for Chenzhou city were Hong Kong, South Africa, Burma, Mexico, Peru, and Australia. The private enterprises played the most important role in the foreign trade business. The total volume of import and export was amounted to 7.8billion yuan for the private enterprises of Chenzhou city in first half year, up 40.2%, covering 82% of the total.
