It was learned from the analysis conference for Chenzhou economy that its industrial economic fundamentals tended to be sound in general. The production of industrial enterprises was operated steadily in the beginning. From this January to March, the added value of scaled industry was with an increase of 5.7%, ranking 4th place of Hunan province.

The quality and effect of industrial economy was being kept improving on following aspects: first, industrial structure was kept being optimized. Concerned for the scaled industry of Chenzhou city, the added value of high processing industry and high-tech industry was with an increase of 16.9% and 20% respectively. The differentiations among industries are more obvious that pharmacy, electronics, and machinery are up 53.1%, 18.4%, and 21.3% respectively, while some traditional industries as coal, electricity, and tobacco are with negative growth. Second, it tended to be strong on industrial investment. 12.33billion yuan investment has been placed on industrial fixed assets investment, up 39.3% which is 24.8% higher than Hunan provincial average level, ranking 2nd place of Hunan province. The total investment placed on industrial technological improvement was amounted to 6.73billion yuan, up 28.7% which is 21.4% higher than Hunan provincial level, ranking the 4th place of Hunan province. It tried great efforts on industrial investment attraction which helped to reach strategic agreements with Amer Group, Inspur, and some other top500 companies of the world and attract series major projects on deepening processing of rare metals, big data, graphite rare new material, and etc. to be settled down in Chenzhou city. Third, the integration rate of industrial parks was being upgraded. The added value for scale industry of the parks was up 7%, accounting for 77% of the total scale industry of Chenzhou city which was 3.4% higher. The innovation and entrepreneurship industrial park was being handled smoothly that over 1.80million square meters standard workshops were being under construction and 0.635million square meters have been finished. The utilization rate of the workshops was 89%. 83 enterprises have been introduced into the park and 97 ones intended to sign the contracts with the park. More than 8300 people were employed by the park.

Affected by tightening macro economy, insufficient market demands, shut down on Spring Festival, and some other negative factors, the industrial production of Chenzhou city still faces severe situation. The increasing rate of added value of scale industry was 5.7% which was the lowest one from 2008, and was 3.3% and 1.5% lower than the same period of 2015 and year of 2015, and was 0.5% lower than Hunan provincial average increasing rate. 10% of the industrial enterprises were shut down which attributed to 3.5% decrease of the increasing rate of scale industry, mainly were for coal, non-ferrous metals mining, and chemical industries.
