It was reported that the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Finance launched a comprehensive demonstration of e-commerce into rural areas in the beginning of 2014, to promote rural areas, especially the national poverty alleviation key counties and concentrated contiguous poor counties to form hematopoietic system and promote e-commerce and farmers income to forms a virtuous circle through financial support. The national e-commerce into the rural comprehensive demonstration counties will get the 20 million yuan of financial support from national finance, of which 5 million yuan will be allocated after the qualified performance evaluation by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance, and State Council Poverty Alleviation Office. The successful selection of Guidong County has the positive effect to further improve the construction of the county's e-commerce public service system, broaden the sales channels of rural products, increase rural e-commerce training, improve the rural market system, promote the income of poor villages and households, and boost the county's poverty alleviation.

In recent years, Guidong County vigorously cultivated and strengthened the main body of rural e-commerce business, accelerated the construction of support system for rural e-commerce, arranged 20 million yuan of special funds by County Finance to support e-commerce into rural areas every year from 2016, and granted the rewards to the new agricultural products sales body, brand building, incubation base, warehousing logistics, processing enterprises, and e-commerce service station construction.
