It was reported that 2015 China (Hunan) Red Tourism and Culture Festival would be held in Guidong county on July 28, 2015. Now Guidong county is fighting for the final stage of all the preliminary work with all its efforts.

In the beginning of 2015, Hunan “red tourism”organization committee confirmed to hold 2015 China (Hunan) Red Tourism and Culture Festival in Guidong county. From then on, Guidong county carried out relative work rapidly and specified all the economic construction tasks should be focused on the festival to meet the festival’s demands and ensure the festival to be fulfilled successfully. The preparatory committee for the festival was set up at the first time, including red tourism office and 9 special working groups with specified tasks.

“General planning” is the top level plan for the festival. Some Hunan provincial and Chenzhou municipal leaders and experts were invited to visit Guidong county and present some useful suggestions. Based on their comments and some experiences gained from other successful festivals, Guidong county finally figured out the “General planning for 2015 China (Hunan) Red Tourism and Culture Festival & Hunan (Guidong) First Fitness and Leisure Summer Festival” which highly indicated Hunan province inheriting of red culture, highlighted Chenzhou elements and showed Guidong features after times of revision.
In order to ensure the festival to be held on schedule, Guidong county selected 17 major projects and formulated the construction assignment brief, time table, road map, and etc. Relative working mechanisms were carried out accordingly. Currently, the main body projects for 9 projects as the second phase of First Military Regulations Square ( the main venue for opening ceremony), the memorial square for the starting of the Red Army’s long march, Santaishan Square, and etc. have almost been finished. The infrastructure construction for the urban area was being proceeded to the final stage. The reconstruction and upgrading project for 11 reception hotels have been completed. 106 leisure summer inns have been placed to public.

Furthermore, before the opening of the “red festival”, series preliminary activities as 2015 China (Hunan) Red Tourism and Culture Festival & China (Guidong) Fitness Leisure Summer Festival- press conference for the establishment of great east Hunan tourism economy cooperation alliance, “reviewing red memories, traveling around great east Hunan”- launching ceremony for the self-driving tour to great east Hunan, “revisiting the long march, traveling new Guidong”- large-scale hiking event, and etc. greatly helped to popularize the fame of “red festival”.
